Another deer season off with a sigh, anyone do better?

We opened the 07 deer season here in south Florida a couple of weeks ago. My son and I were lucky enough to pull a quota for a local management area. We saw several nice deer in the area we scouted prior to the hunt just never got any close the two days we were hunting. Did get a thousand nice sized mosquitos though. I was nice to see the deer we saw because the buck population was higher this year. Hunted a ground blind this year for the first time, helped with the skeeters. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten out yet and if they had any better luck baggin a deer. Also any preferences out there on blind versus tree stand? And please if your a stalk and hunt person, I do that about half the time so don't jump in on the "I think stands and blinds aren't real hunting" parade. It just happens in this management area its really, really, realllllllllyyyy wet and stalking is next to impossible. Just interested in the comparison of those who have used both, like I said first time with the blind.

Spotty movement here in Central MO. That should change by Wednesday though... There’s a cold front moving through today and Tuesday and bringing rain. So there should be plenty of deer to go after Wednesday and Thursday.

Looks like I’ll be joining your ranks about mid-October when my new archery equipment arrives. It’ll take some practice to get back in the saddle but just the same, it’ll be nice to have a bow back in my hands!

Good luck to all of you,
Dan
